Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 

            DCBroadcasting Companies (including WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM(lma), WJTS-TV) VP/GM William C. Potter attended the JOB AND SMALL BUSINESS FAIR Job Fair Monday august 10, 2009 at Evansville, Indiana.  Mr. Potter has the say in the hiring of all employees of DCBroadcasting, Inc. including WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM(lma), WJTS-TV.  In addition to having a booth at the job fair, many applications were accepted and are held on file.  Also qualified candidates were interviewed on site.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 

WORX FM and WXGO AM aired a total of 120 on each station, Public Service Announcements offering information about the Indiana Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program.  The PSA’s encouraged high school and college students to apply for the general IBA scholarship and the Minority Scholarship.  Scholarships were made available to the public at the WORX FM and WXGO AM studios.  WORX and WXGO also made a financial contribution the Indiana Broadcasters Foundation for the scholarship program.  DCBi President Paul Knies, was a member of the scholarship selection committee.

DCBi President Paul Knies and VP/GM Bill Potter attend and participate in the WorkOne Business Seminar series hosted by the Jasper Chamber Of Commerce, Vincennes University Jasper Center and WorkOne / Indiana Workforce Development.  The series is held monthly and features speakers mostly from WorkOne and address issues of employment with focus on equality and workforce development.

WJTS-TV (Analog Ch. 27/Digital Ch. 18) hosted 4 students from Vincennes University Jasper Center for a tour and explanation of a broadcast facilities and career opportunities.  The students were given a presentation about how the TV got started, the new digital transition, news production and broadcast career opportunities.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 
WJTS-TV (Analog Ch. 27/Digital Ch. 18) hosted 8 students from Jasper Middle School (8 Grade Students).  The students were part of the Junior Achievement Job Shadow Program.  The students were at the TV station for the entire school day learning about workplace skills and broadcast career opportunities and the education needed.  The students were given a chance to see how skills learned in school relate to the woekplace.  The students were paired with different career job shadow matches in broadcast ownership/management, program direction, sales, news reporting and writing.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 

WBDC and WAXL hosted a student as a job shadow.  While the student spent most of her time shadowing news and on air staff, she also spent time with each of the station personnel in different departments.  The student participated as a job shadow as part of the Northeast Dubois High School job shadow program at Eggleston and is interested in a broadcast career.   The student as a senior and is interested in a career in communications, preferably radio broadcast.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation:   Kelsey Prechtel provided a tour of the studio to Holland Cub Scout Pack 187 (4 Tiger Cubs).  During the tour and discussion of broadcast, Ms. Prechtel told the scouts basic job requirements, responsibilities and opportunities for careers in broadcasting.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation:   Sandy Elmore along with Paul Knies provided a tour of the TV studio to various students and scouts and their adult leaders throughout the year as noted above.  During the tours and discussion of broadcast, Mrs. Elmore and Mr. Kniesr told the scouts basic job requirements, responsibilities and opportunities for careers in broadcasting.

            DCBroadcasting Companies (including WBDC, WAXL, WRZR(lma), and WJTS) VP/GM William C. Potter attended the IBA Job Fair Saturday March 6, 2010 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Mr. Potter has the say in the hiring of all employees of DCBroadcasting, Inc. including WBDC, WAXL, WRZR(lma), and WJTS.  In addition to having a booth at the job fair, many applications were accepted, applicants interviewed and applications are held on file.  WBDC, WAXL, WRZR(lma), and WJTS each aired 45 sixty-second announcements on each station promoting the job fair and encouraging participation by job seekers and those interested in broadcast careers.
